Safelist Ownership - As A Home Based Business |
||
|
As we've discussed, Safelists are a popular and necessary facility in the Home Business industry, especially since the 'Anti-Spam' Laws were enacted in most western countries in 2004 - 2005. For those who are unaware of exactly what they are and the purpose they serve, here is a quick explanation. For those who wish to skip this explanation, click HERE and go to the section on 'Safelist Ownership'. Safelists are basically a 'co-op' or a membership of people, more often home business people who have agreed to join the 'co-op' (sometimes amounting to thousands) by way of 'opting-in'. Opting in means registering, which signifies your willingness and agreement to any terms and THEN confirming this again by clicking a link which is sent to your nominated email address, in order to confirm that you are the person who registered. This is also known as 'Doubled Opt in', because you have to indicate your willingness twice (by registering and then confirming via clicking on the email link or 'validation link'). The purpose is so that all the members can send emails (mainly promotional emails) to all the others in the Safelist in order to promote their programs, opportunities or whatever. Because the vast majority of people who join Safelists are Home Business people who are often on the look out for new opportunities or interesting products etc, to either buy or promote, they can be effective in expanding your downlines, introducing a product to help new home business people (or those who don't do so well). There are thousands of Safelists, but the majority don't have many more than a couple of hundred members because the owners don't know how to, or don't have the inclination to, promote the list and gain a large membership. Obviously a large membership makes the list more attractive to existing and prospective members because their emails will get greater exposure. Having said this, the newer, smaller lists present an opportunity for enterprising people to register and promote the list themselves and take advantage of the commissions that may be payable through an affiliate program (most Safelists have programs or at least rewards of some type to encourage members to promote it themselves). Safelists are the safe and sound (and legal) way to promote anything via email without breaking the spam laws, because everyone who receives the emails have agreed to do so, twice! Taking the 'promotion' aspect a little further. If you think you would be able to promote a Safelist and gain a good level of membership, you really should consider Safelist ownership. There are a number of places that supply server space and good Safelist programs, which are already set up and running, that you simply 'rent'. Their Safelist programs can be 'personalized' with your own chosen name, logs, and images etc, to make it your very own Safelist. You receive all the Pro and Gold (or whatever they are referred to) fees, the chance to make revenue from advertising, banner rotations, contests etc. In fact, the prospects are unlimited. The pleasant surprise is that a standard Safelist, along with the basic facilities to be up and running immediately will cost around $10 per month to rent. Most people think that the majority of Safelists are owned by the people who operate them. Well, they are 'owned by them, in so far as I have just explained, but the majority are 'rented' from these 'Safelist Rental Facilities'. This is why, if you have noticed, that many of the Safelists have the same 'basic' format. Because they are using the same programs from a limited few 'Safelist Rental Facilities'. We have our own Safelist (HomeBasedBiz Safelist) and we have nothing but praise for the people from whom we rent the server space and program facilities. We have also asked for specific changes to be made and personal adjustments to suit our needs (those which we can't do ourselves) and they have been more than helpful. For anyone wishing to enquire about Safelist Ownership, I personally recommend 'Pearlsofwealth.com' for Safelist ownership. they are extremely good and helpful and their basic price of $10 can be recouped many-fold in the first month alone. For those who don't wish to go with this particular outfit and want to see what else is available a simple Search Engine enquiry like 'Safelist rental" with the likes of Google, will turn up a reasonable variety of possibilities.
